How much does a website cost in Hobart?

In Hobart, a small business website runs from a monthly do-it-yourself builder subscription to a custom build quoted on your brief, and most studios don't publish their prices. Binary Top publishes its floors: static websites from $800, CMS websites from $2,500 and integrated CMS and e-commerce from $8,000. Running costs come on top.

Website prices by build type

Binary Top publishes a starting price for each kind of website it builds. Each figure is a build floor: the least that kind of build costs, before hosting, domains and later changes.

Binary Top's published starting prices for businesses across Tasmania, checked 18 October 2026.

What changes the price

Five things move a website from one price to the next: who edits it, how much content it carries, what it connects to, how many languages it speaks and whether people log in.

  • Who edits the content. If our developers make your changes, a static site does the job. If your team publishes every week, you need a CMS.
  • How much content, and how it repeats. A price shown on six pages should change once, in one place. That is CMS work.
  • What it connects to. Each booking, practice, property or stock system adds an integration to build and test.
  • Languages. A second language means a second site structure and a way to keep both versions current.
  • Logins and accounts. Once people sign in, the build becomes an app, and it is priced on the brief.

What a website costs after launch

The build price is not the whole cost. Every website also pays for a domain each year, hosting, email on your domain if you want it, and the changes you ask for.

  • Domain name. Renewed each year with your registrar.
  • Hosting. A static site on a global CDN costs next to nothing to host. A CMS or integrated site runs on a server, with a monthly cost that grows with the site.
  • Email on your domain. Billed by your email provider.
  • Services you connect. Booking, practice and payment systems charge their own fees, paid to that vendor.
  • Changes. Binary Top quotes ad-hoc changes at $65 an hour, priced per task before work starts. On a care plan, the quote itself is free.

Ask for the running costs in writing with every quote, so you compare like with like. The $65 rate is published in the FAQ on the home page.

A real build: what moved the price

North Hobart Massage is a remedial massage clinic whose therapists run their day in Cliniko. The clinic needed clients to book themselves in against real availability, with no second calendar to keep. Wiring the site to the Cliniko API is what made it an integrated build rather than a CMS website.

Binary Top quotes every build as a fixed price before work starts, and the senior developers who scope your site are the ones who write its code. If you want a number for yours, tell us what you're building.

Common questions

Quotes vary because they price different things. One quote may cover a site you build and edit yourself on a website builder, another a custom build wired into your booking system. Some studios bill by the hour and others fix the price up front. Compare what each quote includes: who edits the site, what it connects to and what it costs to run.

A straightforward website takes about three to five weeks from kickoff to launch. Larger builds with e-commerce, integrations or custom back ends usually take six to twelve weeks. Content is the usual hold-up rather than code, so having your copy and photos ready keeps the date.

With Binary Top, yes. You own what we build outright, and there is no monthly platform licence to keep paying for it. Running costs such as hosting and your domain still apply.

No. A Google Business Profile is free, and you set it up yourself: categories, service areas, hours, photos and reviews. It drives the map results in local searches. Binary Top tells you what to put in it but does not sell or manage it.
